004 – MOONSTRUCK SAGA
Just your common, run-of-the-mill love quadrangle story. Dog meets girl. Girl meets boy. Boy falls in love with his senpai. Girl dies in a tragic truck accident. Dog dies of a broken heart but not before seeking revenge on the boy by setting up the boy’s senpai with the school nurse. In a happy ending, feel good, romantic ending, dog goes off to the underworld to be with the girl forever and ever.
And that’s it. The end.
Or is it?

This was actually one of the very first story ideas I came up with when I started trying my hand at writing stories way back in me high school days. And by that, I mean way, way, way, way, way back. Woof.
It didn't take me long to figure out I was really any good at writing a romance comedy fantasy so I shelved the idea for another time. Sadly, I still wasn't any good at it. Some day though, I'll get down to it and try my hand at it. And probably make a phenomenal mess of it but still, what the heck, right? Heh. There was just something at this story idea that I really liked.
If memory serves, this one was a three-parter and the first paragraph of the story idea description above was just the first part. with the last two parts covering the dog's journey to and through the underworld to find his beloved.

003 – STEEL-BELTED POM-POMS
It’s the year 3020 and the world peace had finally been achieve with the formation of the United Earth Republic governing body. What to do then with all those excess combat mechs and war machines, those that didn’t make it into the United Defense and Peace Force?
Why, use them for high school cheerleading competitions that’s what!
Enter Coach Fred “Bulldozer” Redfield, retired pilot of the Lunar Heavy Infantry Brigade. Will he be able to whip the two-bit, poor excuse for a cheerleading squad of Shinraiden High in time for the metro championships let alone the regionals, which will qualify the team for the High School Combat Cheerleading Championship? Or will the squad be shut down in favor of expanding the Mechanized Flower Arrangement Club?

A story idea inspired by the anime Gun Buster. I thought about how the mechs were being used in schools and couldn't help but think of PE time with mechs. XD
That notion eventually evolved into cute cheerleaders piloting mechs not for battle but for cheerleading and competitive cheerleading.
And then later on, I thought including other types of war machines like tanks and such into the mix would be a good idea. And thus Steel-Belted Pom-Poms was born.
Unfortunately, as it turned out, I wasn't any good at coming up with nifty designs for mechs and war machines. Sigh...

002 – IN THE DARKNESS THERE BE MONSTERS
There’s a reason why humans have always feared the dark. Many theories have been put forth but none could come close to the real reason for mankind’s fear.
It is good to fear the dark. Be afraid. Be very afraid for in the darkness there be monsters. Monsters with an insatiable hunger and craving for human flesh and blood, and for human terror. Human terror, yes. Specially that.
Long vanquished and banished from the world by the discovery and use of fire and then of electricity, what happens when the darkness comes back?

When I first thought of this story idea, I was being literal in that real or actual monsters would show up should total darkness be allowed to come back for long and night time would become a time to afraid for one's life. But I think it's been done before. I dunno. It just sounds so simple now and a bit cliche methinks that someone somewhere sometime must have come up with it and ran with it.
But then I got to thinking that maybe it's not yet a total loss and not to toss this story idea into the trash bin just yet. Maybe I could go a slightly different route that what I had originally aimed with this story idea. There would still be monsters but now they'd be like the inner demons of people coming up and taking over and people would start going crazy and killing each other and stuff like that. Yeah. Maybe...
Or it could be something supernatural linked to somehow to this world via the human mind like something happened in the distant past and something evil got coded or trapped or something in man's primitive brain or mind?
Yeah. Something like that. Maybe...

001 - THE HIGH SCHOOL ZOMBIE CLUB
The High School Zombie Club of East Wind High Academy holds a secret. To the rest of the student body and the world, the club is nothing but a bunch of pathetic zombie-loving freaks. In reality though, it is an elite army of zombie slayers led by their club president, the gaunt-looking, soft-spoken Setsuo Makoto. Not even the club adviser nor the school principal knows this secret.
Every night, club members meet without fail to secretly train in the various ways and techniques of dealing with and dispatching different types of zombies, all in preparation for the inevitable zombie apocalypse, in whatever form it may come.

From the name of the school to that of the only named character in the story description, one invariably gets the feeling that the story takes place somewhere in Japan (or a place somewhat like Japan) or at the very least somewhere in the Orient. Indeed, I was thinking as such when the story idea first popped into my head, if memory serves.
But there is very little reason why the story could not take place in any other country. Indeed I have allowed for enough leeway in the story description for the story location to be anywhere should I decide take things in that direction on the chance that I do develop the story idea into a full working one. Story, that is.
The story location could indeed be in Japan or it could be that the club president is a local boy with Japanese immigrant parents or with a Japanese father and a native/local mother. He could even be a Japanese transfer student which would be highly probable if I decide to make the high school club to be a part or a local branch of a secret international organization of zombie hunters.
